Exploring an Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Poop on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have found plenty of interesting indie games. But, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Titled Unko Technica, this retro-inspired jumping adventure includes a hero that is actually a piece of poop attempting to navigate to a restroom. For those curious, "Unko" means "poop."

How you interact is straightforward: you only need a jump control. Throughout 150 challenges, you'll face boss fights and access a market to buy skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions carefully, as a error means beginning again. Bounce using air pockets to hurl the poop higher, navigate fragile ledges, and touch buttons to open secret routes. Gather currency and use them on more difficult levels where gameplay intensifies.

Graphically, the experience features neon level designs and a killer music score. The simple visual style featuring shifting basic polygons evokes memories of gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

Although tough to recall other games where you play as a dung character, gaming have long incorporated scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as fertilizer. Naturally, such content appears heavily in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its goofy idea, Unko Technica has already earned impressive awards, such as winning at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. A playable preview is ready currently on Steam, with the final release scheduled to debut on computers this November.
