Shocking Recording Shows Point Law Enforcement Suffer Blade Attacks in Unexpected Assault
One ranking policeman who jumped to the aid of a fellow officer who was ambushed by a knife attacker received the Monarch's Honor for Valor.
Sgt Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown after he pressed a weapon to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the policemen and their colleague, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist subsequent to a traffic accident in that location in July 2023.
Brown knifed and cut both Sgt Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.
"Officer knifed," PC Wolstencroft stated over his communication device.
Bodyworn and dashboard camera footage released by the force revealed Brown, wearing in black with a hood covering head, rush to Sergeant Foster from the rear with a blade outstretched.
He struck the officer who lost balance and dropped to the street, after which Sgt Ansell stepped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being repeatedly struck with the weapon.
Police Constable Wolstencroft deployed his electric weapon and waited for a open target, concluding the confrontation to an conclusion.
Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "Please provide something on my neck here, I got knifed in the throat."
Sergeant Ansell received two deep cuts to his throat and additional cuts to his arms and body, whereas Sgt Foster experienced slash wounds.
Authorities said Sgt Foster used his bare hands to stop his colleague's blood loss prior to emergency responders came.
The latest recognition comes subsequent to the three officers received internal Courage Honors in October 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional officer association in spring 2024.
They further earned a North West Valor Recognition in mid-2024.
"The responses of the entire team ultimately saved themselves and ensured no civilians experienced any wounds."
Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in spring 2024, per authorities.
